About the business
Le Pain Quotidien (French for “the daily bread”), is a bakery restaurant group founded in Brussels in 1990 by Alain Coumont. As a young chef, dissatisfied with the quality of bread available in Brussels, Coumont started making his own organic sourdough bread with just 4 ingredients: water, flour, salt and time.
Le Pain Quotidien now has more than 210 bakeries in 21 countries on 3 continents- soon to be 4 with the expansion into Australia. Our mission is to create meaningful connections in a home away from home, with simple but delicious and authentic organic and local cuisine made in-house.
Our expansion into Australia, is around an Area Developer model, where we share the successes with an entrepreneur who can assist in expanding the brand with their region.
We are now looking for entrepreneurs who want to join us as an area developer – and share their local knowledge, be financially stable and share in the successes of this franchise model. We are looking for an aspiring area developer who shares the values of quality, simplicity, conviviality and authenticity.
